Be Different; Everyone else is.
Imagine, if you will: Grinnell College. Approximately 1300 non-conformist students all non-conforming in approximately the same way. Well, almost all of them. Even in such a self-proclaimed liberal and accepting place, there is a group of people who are avoided, who are labelled outcasts. At Grinnell, we are those outcasts, the official freaks of the college.
We are the Back Table. Our crime: sitting at the same table for meals every day. Oh, the horror of it all.
What are we really? We are just a bunch of people who happen to like each other's company and don't mind getting odd stares. Back in the day, freshmen were told to stay away from the southeast table in Quad dining hall, because if you sit there "you're a freak." Alas, with the advent of the Campus center, Quad as an eating area is no more. So the JRC is now the home of Back Table.
Well, I'm proud of my friends and our history, so here is the Back Table home page. Deal with it, pink boy.
