The backtable.org domain

On March 24 2000, one of the back table people posted to the back table list:

And lo, the idea came upon the Rikhei like pidgeon poop upon a car windshield. thebacktable.com (or) backtable.com or .org, or, whatever. We certainly have enough geeks on this list to handle it...any thoughts? ~r

The result is the web page you are reading right now.

Currently, backtable.org is run from the home of Alan Nichols (AKA Capitan Holy Hippie). The backtable.org domain consists of one machine, fnord.backtable.org, that serves as a web server, mail server, and a machine the backtable people can log into. Several of the backtable people have accounts for personal or web development purposes.
